A QSL from CBGY CBC Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, Canada on 750 kHz. I struggled to hear them earlier due to the presence of nearby MCB from Alphen aan de Rijn on 747 kHz. But now that one has move to 846 kHz I can hear CBC regularly.
My report to radionews@cbc.ca received three different answers from people at CBC. One of them was Todd O’Brien who invited me for an interview in the afternoon show he was hosting. They replayed my recording of a topic on the Toronto Blue Jays and the original clip to show the listeners the difference is quality. How nice is that!

Hallo Knut.
Ich benütze hauptsachlich zwei Empfänger: einen Elad FDM S3 und einen ICOM R8600. Beide sind gleich gut, aber ich nutze sie je nach meinen anderen Funkaktivitäten abwechselnd für Mittelwelle. Meine Antenne ist eine NTi Megaloop FX (erhältlich bei Bonito Hamradioshop), die derzeit an einer dreieckigen Schleife (5 x 5 x 5 m), wobei sich die NTi in der Mitte der Basis befindet, also tatsächlich 2,5 x 5 x 5 x 2,5 m). Diese Loop ist wiederum an einem 6 Meter hohen Fahnenmast angebracht, und auf 120/300 Grad ausgerichtet. Meine SDR-Software ist SDR Console. Jeden Nacht nehme ich das gesamte Mittelwellenband auf. Anschließend analysiere ich die Aufnahme mit der Software WavViewDX, um die besten Empfangsmöglichkeiten zu ermitteln.
Now that is something interesting Peter, as I never heard of WavViewDX.
And what’s more interesting, is that there is a Linux version, so I will give it a try for sure !
Only wondering how many Gigabytes it uses to record the complete MW band in one night ? 😉

Apologies Patrick for a late repy. Things are a bit busy overhere. It depends: when I am making a 1.5 MHz recording for 14 hours (long nights in the winter) that results in 650 Gb. So yeah, that’s quite a lot. I could reduce it by 50% making 16 bits rather than 32 bits recordings.
