QSL for ZSC Cape Town Radio 16804.5 kHz. Already in the 80-ies I tried this one when I received them in CW. No luck. More recently I tried again to get a QSL for their DSC transmissions. No luck. Then I got a contact email of Mr. Khan from Artur at Maresme DX, but even that took a 2nd attempt. But hey, here it is, a nice f/d eQSL showing the Table Mountain and the city of Cape Town, South Africa.
And that was not all. The QSL was accompanied with a friendly email, a comprehensive letter describing the history of Telkom maritime services in South Africa, and a 4 page e-brochure:
Congratulations Peter.
Cape Town seems to be taking its time. I also had to insist several times.
Thank you Néstor. You are correct. But the bigger my surprise was with all the details and info.
Hi Peter,
listened to 5698.50 kHz USB a German military station of the Luftwaffe givin id as DHM91.
Any possibility to contact them by email?
By the way, great catch from South-Africa.
Joé
No Joé… I haven’t done much USB listening since I resumed the hobby. So I have no clue. Sorry.
Peter, what email did you use? I’ve maritimeradio@telkom.co.za – that worked month ago but now it failed. ZSC wouldn’t be a new one but would be nice to have this email QSL in the collection. Thank you!
Hi Andy,
As you found out the direct email address for Mr. Khan didn’t work. Not sure if this is ones off or structural.
But for other DX-ers, the folders I received also had maritimeradio@ixmail.co.za as an address. So maybe that works.
Hello Peter,
I just sent out a report to ZSC Cape Town Radio using the address you mentionned
maritimeradio@ixmail.co.za I just receive the following message
”Your message did not reach maritimeradio@ixmail.co.za because the address could not be found or cannot receive messages”.
Do you have any other information ?
Thanks and 73’s
Alain
Hi Alain,
Thanks for reaching out. I sent an alternative address to you by email, the one from Mr. Khan that resulted in my QSL. Unfortunately our colleague Andy had an issue with that address as well.
Kind regards, Peter.
